CAP and the Application Process

Forms and procedures for verifying your account

What is the Customer Acceptance Policy?

GoldMoney's Customer Acceptance Policy (CAP) enables GoldMoney to comply with anti-money laundering legislation, which requires GoldMoney to know the identity and residential address of each of its customers. Once completed, your Holding is set to CAP-Verified status, giving you access to the full range of capabilities in GoldMoney.

Please note you need to create a free Holding with GoldMoney before you can complete the CAP process.

More information about the CAP can be found in our CAP FAQ.

How to Complete the CAP

USA & UK Residents - Applicants resident in the USA or the UK can complete the CAP process entirely online using an identity verification service provided by Equifax.

Applicants from other countries will need to print out the CAP for Individuals form and mail it in to us with the required documents after creating their GoldMoney account online.

Companies and Trusts

Please follow the links for an explanation about CAP for Companies and CAP for Trusts.

Step 1: Download and Complete CAP Form

Please download and print out the CAP for Individuals form below (provided in Letter and A4 page sizes).

Step 2: Mail Completed Form and Documents

Once you have completed the CAP form, mail it along with the requested documents to our office. We will contact you after receiving your form to confirm that you have been accepted as a customer and can begin using your GoldMoney Holding.

About the Forms

Please read the CAP form carefully, and be sure to attach the required documents. Incomplete forms will not be processed, which will increase the time it takes for your Holding to become CAP-Verified.

Please ensure that all verification documents are:

  • either original documents or certified true copies as instructed in the CAP form; AND
  • in the English language, and if not, that you provide certified translations of the documents in English.

Acceptable Certifiers

a member of the judiciary or a serving police or customs officer
an officer of an embassy, consulate or high commission of the country of issue of documentary evidence of identity

Document Submission

Once you have signed and dated the CAP form and had the photocopies of your documents certified, please send them to us through the postal system or by courier if you wish to expedite the CAP process.

Please make sure that your document photocopies are of reasonable quality (i.e., documents are legible, the facial features in the photo ID are clearly visible). Poor quality documents and photocopies will not be accepted. We do not accept faxed copies of documents due to the poor resolution of faxed images.
